Starting XI Ratings

#1 Alisson (4.0/10): Bad giveaway led to the decisive goal. Has the #1 goalie started to show cracks in his armor

#4 Virgil van Dijk (6.0/10): Played more forward than usual with Arsenal soaking up pressure. Performed well in the role but like all of Liverpool on the day, the chances just did not come off

#5 Jérémy Jacquet (6.0/10): Did a good job holding possession in the attacking third when Arsenal dropped back in defense

#6 Milos Kerkez (6.0/10): Grew into the game as time progressed after getting beaten a few times early

#7 Florian Wirtz (7.0/10): Hit the bar on a free kick. Unlucky not to score

#9 Alexander Isak (6.0/10): Popped up in good spots, but could not take advantage of his chances

#10 Alexis Mac Allister (6.0/10): Pretty good, but listened to the crowd too often and fired hopeful shots from distance.

#18 Cody Gakpo (6.0/10): Delivered dangerous set pieces all game as Liverpool kept Arsenal under pressure

#29 Bradley Barcola (6.0/10): Sharp in the first half by beating defenders. Quiet second half by his standards

#33 Ronald Araújo (7.0/10): Solid as usual

#42 Trey Nyoni (6.0/10): Solid outing for his first EPL start, but a couple of rash challenges early pulled down his rating

Substitutes

#8 Dominik Szoboszlai (5.0/10): Had a few good moments in possession, but wanted a bit more

#21 Konstantinos Tsimikas (N/A):

#23 Víctor Muñoz (N/A):

#67 Lewis Koumas (N/A):

#73 Rio Ngumoha (5.0/10): Tried to make magic at the edge of the box but he was too well defended

Our player of the match

Florian Wirtz. Really grew into the game. Inches away from an equalizer that would have turned the match around

The Manager

Andoni Iraola (7.0/10): The boss did not do anything wrong with his selection or subs, but used them too early as Barcola was tired late

LFC Globe Verdict

Liverpool have shown improvement over last season , but this match shows they are not quite ready to be at the top of the table as the losses have come to the top teams in Man City and Arsenal. It’s a long season and the Reds are still in line for a good one, but they are not a championship-level side at the moment
