Alexander Isak andCody Gakpo turned in perfect performances, and even though Liverpool’s performance dipped a bit in the second half, it was more than enough to hand Ipswich Town a rare 2-0 loss at Portman Road
- Alisson (7/10): Solid when Ipswich looked dangerous
- Van Dijk (6/10): Van Dijk and really the entire back line looked solid today
- Jacquet (4/10): Struggled in the second half. He was booked and honestly deserved a second yellow
- Kerkez (6/10): Nice ball for Barcola to run onto, but not much else
- Wirtz (5/10): Made no glaring mistakes, but in the light of others around him, the rating is lower than usual
- Szoboszlai (7/10): Smooth performance. Had a couple of dangerous chances from distance
- Isak (10/10): There is not much to separate Gakpo and Isak. Cool finishes from the Swede and a near hat trick earn him a perfect rating
- Gakpo (10/10): One could argue that Gakpo’s assists were more impressive than Isak’s goals. He gets a 10 also
- Araújo (5/10): Good but a bit uncertain in moments. Outshone by other players
- Mac Allister (6/10): Good pushing forward, but an early yellow card lowers the score
- Muñoz (6/10): Showed off his speed, but the lad tried to take on too many defenders
Substitutes
- Gravenberch (4/10): Unimpressive off the bench; picked up a foul on his first touch
- Barcola (6/10): Decent performance from the new man, but I’m sure Andoni Iraola wanted a bit more
- Nyoni (5/10): Helped to see out the clean sheet, but came on too late for more of an impact
- Koumas (5/10): Stoppage time substitute. No impact(

LFC Globe Verdict
That’s more like it. Liverpool looked dangerous from the start in the first EPL win of the season. There were still moments of concern in the second half, but I will take three road points all day long.
