Alexander Isak scored two first half goals in quick succession as Liverpool look well on their way to the first EPL win of the season with a 2-0 lead at the half over Ipswich.
Liverpool got off to a good start, earning a corner seconds into the game. Even though it was cleared, the Reds looked dangerous from the start. They parlayed that fast start into an early goal as Alexander Isak, who put a shot past the Ipswich goalie after a through ball from Cody Gakpo. The pair connected on another goal just three minutes later, as this time, Isak finished in the bottom corner with the outside of his foot. As a result, Liverpool had a 2-0 lead inside of 10 minutes.
Dominik Szoboszlai forced a save in the 20th minute as the Reds kept the pressure on. He put another shot on frame moments later, but it was punched away. Alisson claimed a dangerous corner near the half hour mark to keep Ipswich off the board, but the home team had settled in the match by that point. Isak nearly put the finishing touches on a first half hat trick, but he was whistled for offside. As a result, Liverpool had to settle for a fairly dominant 2-0 lead at halftime.

LFC Globe Verdict
This was by far the best first-half performance by Liverpool this season. Isak continues his torrid scoring pace at Portman Road, and all is right with the Reds so far.
