All the best photos as Liverpool thrash Leicester to go 13 points clear

Liverpool FC

All the best photos from Liverpool’s excellent Boxing Day display against Leicester City as they thrashed the Foxes 4-0.

Liverpool returned to action following their Club World Cup exploits in Qatar, putting in a commanding performance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 13 points, with a game in hand.

The Reds dominated from the off and took the lead just after the half-hour mark as Roberto Firmino got on the end of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s superb ball into the box to head home past Kasper Schmeichel.

Jurgen Klopp’s side took total control of the tie during a second-half blitz, scoring three times in seven minutes.

Substitute James Milner converted from the spot after a handball by Caglar Soyuncu, before Alexander-Arnold set up Firmino for the second time, with the Reds forward coolly slotting home from close-range.

Alexander-Arnold then capped off his excellent performance with a goal as he unleashed a powerful driven shot from the edge of the area, giving Schmeichel little chance in goal.

It was one of Liverpool’s finest displays this season, and it came at the ideal time for the Reds, who now establish a 13-point lead over Brendan Rodgers’ second-placed side.
