The press conference starts at 8 minutes and 30 seconds in the video.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp held his usual pre-game press conference on Friday afternoon. He met with the media ahead of the first Merseyside derby of the season. The Reds face their rivals from across Stanley Park, Everton, tomorrow afternoon.

Firstly, the manager spoke about the Wednesday of Arthur Melo. He said the player would most likely be available for the Champions League opener against Napoli this coming Wednesday.

Klopp summed up his opinion of Melo, “He can give rhythm, he is a really good passer, plays with speed on the ball… Really good in tight areas.”

The manager also said that he didn't think Melo falling out of favour in Juventus was a problem. He believes, “We obviously play different to Juve, we thought that he would fit in pretty well, and we are really pleased.”

Next, he addressed the return of Darwin Núñez. Speaking about his star striker's return from suspension Klopp said, “He's learned a lesson. He's in really good shape… The time he was out, we used with him to give him some more input physically as well as tactically… He had a really good week last week.”

Klopp then gave an update on the latest injury to the side. He confirmed that Jordan Henderson is the latest addition to the injury list, “He's definitely out, he's injured, to the extent I don't know.”

Finally, Klopp did have some good news regarding injuries. The manager teased a return for star midfielder Diogo Jota. Giving an update on Jota's status, “Diogo will probably be in as well, he trained yesterday with the team… We have to make a decision whether to involve him right but, for the first time we might have 5 attackers since Christmas.”

He also said that Thiago is very near a return and could also be in the lineup for the match. Getting both midfielders back is massively good news for the Reds.

Jota has been out since the preseason with a thigh injury. If Thiago, comes back next week he will be ahead of schedule. Keep it locked on LFC Globe to see if Jota is in the lineup tomorrow and for further injury updates.

LFC Globe Verdict

With a press conference that revealed mostly good news for the Reds, it's hard not to feel great going into tomorrow's derby. will do everything they can to kill our vibe, though. It's up to Klopp and the team to be ready for a battle against the Blues.
