Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were both left on the bench but the Reds didn't feel their absence as they scored four times in the first half to beat Marco Silva's side.

They took the lead inside the opening ten minutes as Divock Origi finished from Sadio Mane's excellent through ball. Mane then found Xherdan Shaqiri, who finished superbly, before Everton pulled one back through Michael Keane.

Origi scored his second just after the half-hour mark as he controlled and finished excellently from Dejan Lovren's long ball to make it 3-1 to the Reds.

Mane turned two-time provider to goalscorer as he set up a counter-attack with Trent Alexander-Arnold and finished with a first time left-footed effort, before Richarlison scored in added time of the first half.

The goals dried up in the second half as Liverpool controlled the game and looked happy to conserve their energy, however Gini Wijnaldum scored in the final minute to put the icing on the cake and earn all three points for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp's side maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table and are next in action away to Bournemouth this weekend.
