The Brazilian missed last Friday‘s 5-0 win over Huddersfield after suffering a muscle tear in training a day before.
There were rumours that Firmino’s season could be cut short by the injury, however manager Jurgen Klopp eased those worries, insisting his striker would soon be fit.
He had been a major doubt for Wednesday night’s Champions League semi-final first-leg against Barcelona at Camp Nou, however he looks set to be given the all clear for the trip.
Firmino is set to re-join training with his teammates on Tuesday morning, with a 21-man squad jetting out to Spain later in the afternoon.
Should he pass his fitness test, the Reds forward is likely to be part of the travelling squad despite just the one full training session before match-day.
Daniel Sturridge led the line against Huddersfield at Anfield, however an away tie at Camp Nou is an entirely different proposition and Klopp is therefore likely to give Firmino every chance to slot straight back into the side.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came through his 20-minute return on Friday with no issues and he will be part of Liverpool’s travelling squad for the first time in the Champions League this season.
The Reds will be hoping to contain Barcelona’s attack and grab a crucial away goal before welcoming the La Liga champions to Anfield for the second-leg next week.
