Liverpool vs PSG Player Ratings: Reds Exit UCL After Late Heartbreak

Mohamed Salah looking disappointed on the pitch for Liverpool

Liverpool showed marked improvement over the first leg, but near misses and a pair of late strikes from PSG doomed them to a 2-0loss, and they exited the UCL 4-0 on aggregate.

  • Mamardashvili (7/10): Some big saves in the first half to keep the Reds in the fixture
  • Kerkez (7/10) Set up plenty of chances for others
  • Szoboszlai (6/10): Some strong balls forward
  • Gravanberch (6/10): Solid runs through the middle of the pitch, but could not finish
  • Frimpong (5/10): Not much of an impact before being subbed off
  • Van Dijk (6/10): The duo did well, especially dropping back in recovery after pushing forward
  • Konate (610): He did well, especially dropping back in recovery after pushing forward
  • Ekitike (6/10) A few good moments coming forward before being injured
  • Wirtz (6/10):  Had some nice give and go moments with Salah
  • Isak (6/10): Continued to show improvement, working his way back from injury
  • Mac Allister (7/10): Worked his way for an apparent penalty that was overturned by VAR

The Substitutes

  • Salah (9/10): Brilliant  performance after coming on, nearly scoring and delivering some good corners
  • Gomez (5/10): Had to come off after just 20 minutes on the pitch
  • Gakpo (7/10): Constant threat after coming on. His best game in a while
  • Ngumoha (7/10): Some moments of brilliance from the youngster, but others where he held the ball too long
  • Jones (5/10) Little to no Impact

Man of the Match

  • Salah

The Manager

  • Arne Slot (6/10)  Salah had a great game and should have played the full 90, but I like Slot’s aggressiveness

LFC Globe Verdict

That was better, but not good enough from the Reds. You felt a Liverpool goal was coming, but the first PSG goal really took the wind out of the Reds’ sails.
