Liverpool will tackle their biggest challenge this season on Sunday (March 10) when they take on Manchester City at Anfield in a clash that could decide the fate of the Premier League title.

It's a game that's been circled on the calendar for both sides for months and the time is finally here and there's certainly an equal measure of excitement and nervousness for both fanbases.

Liverpool - who currently lead the league by a single point - enter the clash in top form, having won their last four league games in a row as well as clinching wins in the EFL Cup final, FA Cup and the Europa League during their unbeaten streak throughout the last month.

City are in similar imperious form, having gone on a 12-match unbeaten run in the league with their last defeat coming all the way back in December when they were bested 1-0 by Aston Villa.

Since then, Pep Guardiola's side have been on point and are full of confidence, especially after their 3-1 win against Manchester United last week.

Liverpool and Man City have been battling each other for the last six years and with Jürgen Klopp leaving Anfield at the end of the season, this game will certainly spell the end of an era in what has been a fabulous rivalry to witness for both sets of fans as well supporters of the Premier League.

While it may be the last game Klopp challenges Guardiola in the Premier League, both managers could meet in the FA Cup later on in the season but their focus will no doubt be on Sunday.

Recent history falls on the side of the Spaniard with City unbeaten in their last three games against Liverpool in all competitions. While a 1-1 draw occurred at the Etihad in the return fixture, City have won just once at Anfield in the Premier League under Guardiola, with that 4-1 win coming back in 2021.

The Anfield crowd will be roaring like nothing ever experienced before as the Reds faithful will show up for the team and Klopp in a game that could propel them to a Premier League title in the German's last season in Merseyside.

LFC Globe Verdict 

Remaining partially decimated by injury, Liverpool will thankfully have Mohamed Salah back for Sunday after the Egyptian made his return from injury in Liverpool's 5-1 win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

An in-form Darwin Núñez will be looking to cause havoc against a dangerous Manchester City defence in what will be a battle for the ages.

Both teams have everything to play for but the Anfield support is unique and I believe they'll help the team score a famous 3-1 victory to move four points clear of their rivals.
