After their first EPL defeat of the season to Manchester City, Andoni Iraola and Liverpool hope to right the ship in Champions League action vs. LASK on October 14th.
Reeling Reds
The last time Liverpool lost 3-0 in the EPL at Anfield was to Nottingham Forest on November 22nd, 2025. The club is also dealing with a long list of injuries and suspensions. The loss to Man City is more understandable when you consider that Alexander Isak, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Cody Gakpo all missed the game due to injuries. Even so, the 3-0 loss drops Liverpool to 9th on the EPL table, so it’s even more important that the Reds get a win vs. LASK to stay competitive in the Champions League.
A Look At LASK
Liverpool and LASK played each other in the 23/24 Europa League competition. The Reds won both legs 4-0 and 3-1, respectively. This season, LASK is off to a strong start, sitting third in the Austrian Bundesliga. They are led in scoring by Christoph Lang, who has 5 goals in 8 league matches.
The Squad
Liverpool named their 23-man traveling squad, but it is missing Szoboszlai, Gakpo, and Isak, which will hamper offensive production. The traveling party includes:
Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Kerkez, Wirtz, Mac Allister, Tsimikas, Munoz, Mamardashvili, Woodman, Barcola, Frimpong, Araujo, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Chambers, McConnell, Koumas, Ngumoha, Danns, Sonni-Lambie, Lucky.
LFC Globe Verdict
Where is the scoring going to come from? That is the question Iraola has to answer. You can read more in our predicted lineup. Even with all that firepower missing, I think Liverpool squeaks by with a 2-1 win.
