LASK 3-6 Liverpool Player Ratings: Barcola Perfect 10 & Wirtz Shines in 9-Goal Thriller

Florian Wirtz playing for Liverpool ahead of the LASK 3-6 Liverpool Champions League player ratings

Liverpool turned in a dominating performance with a 6-3 win over LASK.  Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola were outstanding with a hat trick, and several other members of the Starting XI turned in strong performances

  • Alisson (5/10): Not called on very often but was solid between the pipes. Nothing he could have done to stop the three  goals
  • Jaquet (6/10): Tracked back well on LASK counterattacks
  • Wirtz (9/10): One of his best games in a Liverpool shirt. Hopefully, that will carry into EPL play
  • Tsimikas  (8/10): The Greek International bagged a pair of assists in a solid game
  • Barcola (10/10): Did not put a foot wrong all night. His hat trick speaks to that
  • Frimpong (7/10): Got a big stop defensively in the second half, followed by a goal
  • Araújo (8/10): Looked like Virgil on his headed strike
  • Gravenberch (5/10): Quiet night. Not bad at all, but outshone by others
  • Nyoni (5/10): Same for Nyoni. I was hopeful the young player could have done more with his opportunity.
  • Koumas (7/10) Bright play from the youngster, and he was rewarded with a second-half goal
  • Ngumoha (7/10) Created numerous chances, but could not find the back of the net

Substitutes

  • Van Dijk (5/10) struggled a bit after coming on, giving away possession.
  • Gomez (4/10)  Not a good look after his man scored just after he came on
  • Munoz (6/10) Nice run late in the game.
  • Mac Allister (5/10) Late sub, no impact
  • Chambers (5/10)  Late sub, no impact

Man of the Match

Barcola

The Manager

  • Andoni Iraola (9/10): Put together a strong side, despite missing key players

LFC Globe Verdict

The goals surrendered are disappointing, but not much to complain about here. Anytime you can score six, it’s impressive. Barcola showed his skill with a hat trick, but he was far from the only player to have a good night. The goal difference could have been higher,  but a strong result nonetheless.

One response

  1. After the last two games I am starting to wonder if we are a 60 min team ? In the last 30 minutes of both games we were in 3rd gear. Maybe time to start looking at the fitness levels in the squad.
