Referred to as ‘The Egyptian King' by Liverpool fans, is certainly going down in history as a Liverpool great.

Whether he goes down as the greatest player in the club's history is a different argument altogether.

The club have been blessed with a number of true greats since the Premier League began in 1992 and Salah is one of them.

The likes of , Xabi Alonso, Robbie Fowler, and are just a few of those players who've worn the famous red.

The excellent pool of talent Liverpool have had in the Premier League makes the question of whether Salah is the greatest of them all an exciting one.

Trophies matter

Whether we like it or not, the trophies a player wins in his career and his role in said trophies add to their legacy and could place them further ahead of truly great players that didn't much.

Luis Suárez, who is perhaps the most talented player Liverpool have had in the Premier League, only won one trophy with the club, the League Cup in 2012.

Fernando Torres, who was, at one point, the best striker in the world during his time at the club, didn't win any silverware before joining for £50 million.

Mohamed Salah has won a trophy in every competition he's competed in whilst at Liverpool.

Not only that, he was one of the absolute key figures in bringing Liverpool back to the top of world football and realising their first-ever Premier League title in the 2019/20 season.

That's not even mentioning the individual the winger has been able to stack up during his six years at the club.

Continued success

The scary thing about Salah's case for being the greatest Liverpool player in their Premier League history is that his story isn't finished yet.

At 30 years old, the Egyptian has at least three years left at the top level and it could be even more considering the insane shape he keeps his body in.

While the current Liverpool side certainly need reinforcements in the transfer window, the likes of , , , and Thiago are just a few of the world-class players the club still possess.

This summer will be a significant one for Liverpool as they aim to return to the level they've been performing at for the last five years and who knows, more trophies may be in play which would only strengthen Salah's argument.
