Liverpool dominated the first half with 12 shots, but they have nothing to show for it as the scoreline stands at 0-0

Liverpool got off to a bright start, earning a pair of corners in the first five minutes. Brentford then settled into the game as both teams went end-to-end on the pitch. Another corner led to a scramble in the box, but the Reds could not convert.

Salah hit the woodwork in the 19th minute and earned a corner as Liverpool kept knocking on the door. Curtis Jones made a run into the box at the half-hour mark and was tackled, but no penalty was awarded. Ryan Gravenberch forced a save in the 37th minute by Kelleher as the teams had to settle for a draw at halftime.
