What Will Class As A Successful Season For Liverpool This Year?

Liverpool are in quite a tricky situation. They have several world-class players and have won everything there is to in football during the last few years.

However, several areas of their squad are noticeably weak and many believe if those particular needs are not addressed, a challenge for the and UEFA may not be viable.

However, should they improve their squad, their expectations regarding the /24 season rise almost instantaneously.

Premier League Title Win

While Liverpool ended the season with an 11-match unbeaten streak, by all intents and purposes, it was a dismal year that ended with no trophies and a fifth-placed finish, guaranteeing their omission from the Champions League for the first time since 2017.

For most, the /23 season was a blip and Liverpool would resume back to normal the upcoming season - but with considerable transfer arrivals and departures.

The signings of and were great business by the club as they've secured some of the best midfield talents in Europe for years to come.

The forward line of the club has always been impressive while the defence may be the weakest section of the team but still houses the likes of , , and .

While a title challenge will already be considered an improvement on last season, winning the title, which would be their first since the 2019/20 season, would spell the beginning of 's second era at the club.

Having gone unbeaten in their first three games this season, Liverpool have navigated two tough trips against and Newcastle, winning the latter 2-1 thanks to a Darwin Núñez brace, which certainly bodes well for the rest of the season.

Mounting a title challenge may be too unrealistic for fans who believe we need to do more transfer business to be a legitimate threat to the likes of and .

Due to Liverpool's inclusion in the this season, the competition is a great opportunity for the club to secure silverware as they'll most likely be the best team in the tournament.

The race for the top four will be a difficult one due to improvements made by Chelsea and Tottenham while up-and-coming teams such as and West Ham have made admirable starts to the season but Liverpool should surely finish comfortably in the top four.

Silverware usually spells a good season for a club but with the amount of world-class talent Liverpool have, that may not be enough.
