Liverpool strengthened their position at the top of the Premier League table as they ran out excellent 3-1 winners over Pep Guardiola's side.

The Reds took the lead inside the opening ten minutes as the ball fell to Fabinho on the edge of the box, with the Brazilian unleashing a powerful strike to make it 1-0.

They doubled their lead not long after as Andy Robertson's cross found Mohamed Salah, who headed across Claudio Bravo and into the back of the net.

It got even better for Jurgen Klopp's side after the interval as Jordan Henderson's superb cross to the far-post was squeezed home by Sadio Mane, who did well to time his run.

Man City got a consolation goal through Bernardo Silva, but the Reds held on to win 3-1 - a result that sees them take an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

City, meanwhile, move down to fourth place behind Leicester and Chelsea, sitting nine points adrift of Klopp's side heading into the November international break.
