LFC Globe was on-site for the Liverpool vs. Sunderland match at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Following the Reds' 4-2 win over the Black Cats, we caught up with academy product Kieran Morrison, who scored his first Senior team goal in the 13th minute vs. Sunderland. He discussed playing with the Senior Team, the USA Tour, among other topics.

Q: How do you Feel You Fit In With The Senior Team?
A: “I feel like I fit in well because there is not a lot of right-wingers right now, so I am just trying to stake out my place with the team and try to show every day in training or a game what I can do.”
Q: For A Young Player, What Does Being Included On This USA Tour Mean To You?
A: “It’s great. As soon as I found out I was going to get to play. I was so excited. There are a lot of younger players here, so it’s like I’m getting to play with my mates. We all push each other on. Every day is a learning curve for us.”
Q: How Would You Rate The Match Vs. Sunderland?
A: “It was a tough match vs. a quality opponent. They are definitely a Premier League-level club. For me to perform well against them shows that I can do it on a top-level.”
Q: What Are Your Goals For The Rest Of The Season?
A: Just to get as much time on the pitch as possible. Whether that’s starting or coming off the bench, I just want to make an impact.”
Q: Share Your thoughts On The Stadium And The Atmosphere
A: “Great! Liverpool is the best club, and we have the best fans in the world. We saw Liverpool fans everywhere today. No matter where you go, whether it’s America or Australia, we are welcomed, and we feel like we are at home.”
LFC Globe Verdict
Kieran Morrison may not be the face of the franchise, but he showed promise on the pitch by scoring a goal and poise in the interview room post-match. When you are face to face with the players, you realise how young some of them are, and it allows you to be a bit more forgiving if they make a mistake on the pitch. Kieran Morrison may not see a lot of minutes this season, but if he stays with the team, they will come because I foresee a bright future for him.
