Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has signed a new contract with the Reds. The new deal will keep the versatile Hungarian at Anfield through the 2031 season. Although not reported by the club, multiple other outlets are saying the contract is worth 27.3 million euros over five years, making him one of Liverpool’s top earners.

Szoboszlai was arguably Liverpool’s best, most consistent player last season, scoring 13 goals while also garnering 12 assists. He was named Liverpool’s Player Of The Season and one of the EPL’s Best XI via a fan vote.

“It’s maybe my biggest day,” Szoboszlai said. “There are a couple in front of it – probably when I signed for Liverpool, the first one, and when I got my baby, of course. But in my football career, I can say this is in the top three. Very happy. [I] can’t wait to go again and again and again. I’m just happy to be here, as I said many times. “When I signed, I said I want to win everything. That didn’t change for a little moment either. It stayed the same: I want to win everything that is possible in this country, also let’s say the Champions League. I’m ready to go for it.”

LFC Globe Verdict

With all the changes around the club these days, it’s good to see the top brass lock down a top player for the foreseeable future. Szoboszlai had been linked with other clubs, so this is great news. He should be an anchor in the midfield for years to come.
