RB Leipzig vs Liverpool highlights - All the goals and highlights as Liverpool beat Leipzig 2-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp made just one change as the injured James Milner was replaced by Thiago, who partnered Gini Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones in midfield. Ozan Kabak continued in defence alongside Jordan Henderson.
Leipzig had a couple of early chances with Angelino causing problems down the left but the Reds dictated much of the game as they looked to get the ball up to their forwards at pace, reminiscent of their usual free-flowing style.
Andy Robertson went close with an audacious long-range effort whilst Roberto Firmino had the ball inside the back of the net before the goal was ruled out due to the ball going out of play in the build-up.
The Reds seemed to create avenues inside Leipzig's box at will and, despite Leipzig getting some early joy after the break, it was more of the same in the second half.
However, two self-made errors by Leipzig - inside five minutes of one another - defined the night. A misplaced pass saw Mohamed Salah creep in to give the Reds the lead before Sadio Mane pounced on a slip to double their advantage.
Despite Leipzig seeing more of the ball in the latter stages, Liverpool kept their defensive shape well as their concentration levels at the back looked far superior to what we've grown accustomed to in recent weeks.
They expertly managed the game as the clock ticked on in the final minutes to secure a solid 2-0 win in Europe, giving them a big advantage before next month's return leg at Anfield.
The hope will be this performance can now also act as a catalyst for their Premier League campaign as they look to push for a spot in the top four.
