Giovanni Leoni is an Italian centre-back whose route to Liverpool took him through Padova, Sampdoria and Parma. This profile covers his background and the club’s August 2025 signing announcement; it does not report his current fitness, selection or season statistics.
From Padova to Serie A
Leoni made his senior debut for Padova in March 2023, aged 16. A loan spell at Sampdoria followed in the second half of 2023/24: he played 12 times and scored once in Serie B. Parma then signed him ahead of the 2024/25 season. He made 17 appearances and scored one goal during that campaign in Serie A. Liverpool’s signing announcement records those career milestones.
Liverpool’s signing announcement
Liverpool announced Leoni’s arrival from Parma on 15 August 2025, when he was 18. The club described the agreement as a long-term contract, subject to international clearance and a work permit. It announced the No.15 shirt. Those details refer to the signing announcement; this page does not infer a contract expiry, transfer fee or salary.
