Liverpool face a must-win game as they travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Sunday, April 21st. The Reds have slipped to third place on the table, but pending other results, could move up with a win.
Focus On Fulham
Even though the Cottagers are 12th on the table, Fulham is a hot team as of late. They have 16 points from their last 10 league matches, including a win in their last match. Rodrigo Muniz leads the club with eight goals in the year. The defense is also one of the stingiest in the EPL as goalie Bernard Leno has the second-most clean sheets in the league this season.
Out Of Our Hands
Liverpool are just two points off of the top of the table, they need some help to win the Premier League title for Jürgen Klopp in his final year with the club.
“That's obviously not in our hands, it's not about that,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference. “I think if we would win all our games, yeah, there's a good chance that we will be champion. If not, yeah, then it's a good chance that somebody is there. Maybe we only have to win five or whatever, but nobody knows. We had a bad week [last week] result-wise – not even performance-wise [in] all of them and [had] good moments, created an awful lot of chances.”
Facts & Figures
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 6 strips to Craven Cottage and they have scored in each of their last 19 EPL, which is the longest current streak in the league. History promises at least some offence as there has not been a goalless draw between the two sides since 1963. That does not mean Fulham will be easy to beat though, as the club already has 9 EPL wins on their home pitch this season, the most since 2011-12.
LFC Globe Verdict
As I have already stated, this is a must-win game for the Reds. Their title hopes hang in the balance every time they step on the pitch from here on out. Getting a win at Craven Cottage will not be easy, but I think they get the job done 2-1.
