Watch Jurgen Klopp's post-match press conference as he reacted to Liverpool's qualification to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Liverpool sealed a 5-0 aggregate win following Tuesday night's goalless draw at Anfield.

Klopp emphasised the importance of his side playing well in the Champions League this season, however said his Liverpool team now must keep it going.

“It feels really good, to be honest,” said Klopp. “I cannot feel what people feel about waiting so long but I know about it. The last eight is cool. I am a little bit satisfied.

“It was time we showed up again. There is good development at Liverpool at the moment but, if you don't show up in a competition like the Champions League, then nobody will realise it. It's done, it's good – now let's carry on.

“The maximum you can do is reach the next round and we did that in a quite comfortable way.

“I don't think that could have been expected, so I'm really happy about that.

“I don't want to make it smaller than it is and I don't want to make it bigger.

“We belong there, it should not be a big surprise and the next round will be very difficult.

“We have a chance to go through to the semis, that is the aim, but we take it step by step. It's cool.”

On the possibility of drawing a Premier League rival in the quarter-finals, Klopp said: "I don't mind to be honest. I don't care. We take it how it comes.

“We don't wish for anybody. We played whoever we get. That is how it is.

“There are five English teams in and at one point we will play them so we will see when it comes."

Klopp was keen to give minutes to midfielder Adam Lallana, who started against Porto, and Danny Ings, who came on for the 30 minutes.

He added: "Adam [Lallana] needed a few minutes to get into the game but then it was really good and very important for him to play that long.

“He played 90 minutes by the way.

"Danny Ings got 30 minutes in the Champions League too which is nice for him. He knows he could have scored but I am happy for him.”
