Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic could leave in January, with two Italian clubs interested in the Serbian.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who joined Liverpool from Benfica for £20million four years ago, has had a torrid few years at the club, unable to break into the squad.

Despite a promising start under previous manager , Markovic has not played for the Reds since 2015.

He has had spells at Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull City and Anderlecht, however a permanent move from Anfield has failed to materialise.

According to Calciomercato via The Mirror, Jurgen Klopp is willing to let Markovic leave the club for free in January.

Italian sides Fiorentina and Genoa are interested in him in January, six months before his contract expires at the club.

The Reds had made a last-ditch attempt to sell Markovic for a fee in the summer, however proposed moves to Olympiakos and Anderlecht ultimately fell through.

Despite clearly not having a future on , a move to Italy may be ideal for him to reignite his career and rediscover the form he showed in his early days at Liverpool.
