Klopp delivers Emre Can injury update after midfielder limps off during Watford win

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp addressed Emre Can's injury blow after the midfielder was forced to leave the pitch during Liverpool's 5-0 over on Saturday.

Can went down despite no contact from an opponent after just 27 minutes at , and was replaced by .

Speaking after his side's demolition of Watford, Klopp said that Can's injury wasn't “too serious” and confirmed the midfielder is still set to join the Germany squad for the break.

“[It was his] back. He doesn't think, and I don't think, it's too serious. But it was too serious to continue,” Klopp explained.

“He had that problem a little bit during the week, we gave him one extra recovery day, he thought it would work and he trained normally yesterday.

“It was one header, and maybe because of the temperature, it's a muscle thing.

“But it should not be that serious. He'll go to the national team I think, and will have treatment there.

“Their game isn't tomorrow. We'll know more [soon] but it shouldn't be an issue.”

Germany play Spain and Brazil on March 23rd and 27th respectively in friendlies during the international break, with Can originally hoping to feature for Joachim Low's side.

Meanwhile for Liverpool, Klopp's side are next in action on March 31st, to Crystal Palace in the .
