Jurgen Klopp provided an injury update on his Reds squad ahead of Liverpool's meeting with Tottenham at on Sunday.

The boss is set to welcome back after the right-back missed Liverpool's 4-1 over in the on Wednesday.

The right-back was ruled out with a virus and didn't make the trip to Belgium, however, he should be back in contention for this weekend's clash against Mauricio Pochettino's side.

“Trent is fine. Or looked fine, if there is no setback,” Klopp told reporters at Melwood on Friday.

“He was ill – ill enough to not travel with us, which is not a good sign, but yesterday he had a clearing session and if it is as it was yesterday then he should be fine.”

Joel Matip was another absentee for Liverpool in midweek and Klopp is still unsure whether the Cameroonian will be fit in time for the weekend.

“With Joel, we have to see. I didn't see him yet. I don't know 100 percent,” he added.

It seems that Matip is unlikely to start against Spurs after not being involved in training, with the most probable to step up in place of him, as he did on Wednesday night.

The boss alleviated any concerns over left-back 's fitness, insisting his early withdrawal against Genk was down to managing his minutes during an intense period in the Reds' schedule.

“Yeah, we just rested Robbo,” Klopp explained. “We thought that's enough for today, 60 minutes. He could do it and did it. He is fine.”

Meanwhile, continues to be sidelined with a calf injury, having returned from receiving treatment in his native Switzerland earlier this week.

“I saw Shaq this morning and spoke to him. It will take a little bit of time still. Big muscles, unfortunately, it needs a little bit longer to heal,” Klopp said.

“All the other long-term [injuries] are not available.”

It will be interesting to see how Klopp shapes his side this weekend, with midfielders , and Naby Keita all putting in huge contributions in the past week.

Whilst it's highly unlikely Lallana will have a major role, both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Keita will be hopeful of retaining their place from midweek.

However, Klopp tends to revert to a midfield trio of , and in big games, and it's likely to be the same for the visit of Spurs.
